Anthony Scaramucci of SkyBridge Capital revealed at Consensus Hong Kong that his fund has been buying Bitcoin at $84,000, $63,000, and continues this week. He views the ETF panic sell-off as an opportunity while warning that Trump's Greenland ambitions could complicate crypto legislation.

Anthony Scaramucci, founder of SkyBridge Capital, announced at the Consensus Hong Kong summit today that his firm has been consistently buying Bitcoin at $84,000, $63,000, and again this week. His remarks come amid a brutal sell-off that saw Bitcoin drop from a December high of $126,000 to a February low of $60,000.

Scaramucci acknowledged that buying during a downturn is like catching a falling knife, but stressed that a multi-billion dollar fund publicly declaring a buy-the-dip strategy can help stabilize market sentiment. He specified, "We bought at $84,000 ten days ago, $63,000 last week, and we are buying again this week."

Record ETF Outflows Seen as Opportunity

The timing of Scaramucci's disclosure is not coincidental. The Bitcoin ETF market is experiencing its worst outflow streak ever: U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw cumulative net outflows of about $6.2 billion from November 2025 to January 2026, the longest continuous withdrawal period on record. On February 5, BlackRock's IBIT posted record single-day volume of over $10 billion with 284 million shares traded, but it was driven by panic selling — IBIT saw $175 million in redemptions that day, accounting for 40% of the total $434 million net outflow across all 11 ETFs.

On-chain data confirms the severity: Bitcoin's entity-adjusted realized loss hit $3.2 billion on February 5, an all-time high. ETF investors' average cost basis is around $90,000, meaning they are sitting on roughly 15% unrealized losses. Scaramucci's logic is straightforward: when others panic, smart money buys.

Trump 'Crypto President' but Greenland Ambitions May Backfire

Scaramucci also touched on politics, calling Trump a "crypto president" for his pro-digital-asset policies. However, he warned that Trump's aggressive pursuit of Greenland could provoke Democratic opposition to retaliate by blocking crypto legislation. This means the fate of stablecoin bills, market structure frameworks, and tokenization rules may hinge on political calculations entirely unrelated to crypto.

Altcoin Picks: Solana, Avalanche, TON

Beyond Bitcoin, Scaramucci disclosed his altcoin holdings: Solana, Avalanche, and TON. He is most bullish on Solana, calling it "low-cost, fast, and developer-friendly," with a long-term price target of $2,500 within 5 to 10 years. His thesis: tokenization combined with clearer U.S. regulation will make Solana a core financial rail system.
