On May 31, BNB surged more than 10% after breaking through a key resistance level, while Solana (SOL) continued trading sideways below $83, failing to replicate the move. CryptoCurb, an anonymous social media analyst, posted a comparative chart on X showing that the two tokens have tracked each other broadly since their October 2025 peaks, yet BNB cleared a major resistance (marked in red) at the end of May while SOL has not.
CryptoCurb noted that Solana has yet to clear the marked resistance level, unlike BNB. The analyst suggested that if SOL can mimic BNB’s move, a comparable breakout might follow, but confirmed no decisive upward action has materialized for Solana so far.
Historical data shows the two assets often move in sync, but technically SOL must conquer its identified resistance zone for any meaningful momentum shift. Separately, analyst Ray highlighted a triangle formation on SOL’s chart, with the price clinging to the lower band near $82.79. Lower highs and higher highs have converged after February’s sharp correction. Key resistance levels include $91.20, $94.02, $97.67, $90.74, and $98.39, while supports sit at $67.70, $75.67, $76.76, and $81.42.
Triangle Pattern Leaves SOL at a Crossroads
Price is now squeezed between a short-term descending resistance line and a major rising support zone, awaiting a breakout. Ray stated that if an upward move occurs, the potential bounce in SOL could be “unforgettable,” but emphasized that SOL must first break above the top trendline of the triangle for new bullish momentum. Ray’s designated target for a completed breakout is $125, contingent on SOL decisively clearing the resistance areas currently capping the price.
In contrast, BNB quickly posted a gain of more than 10% after its breakout, while SOL remains range-bound below resistance. Market participants are now watching to see if Solana can emulate BNB’s recent move. This divergence follows months of correlated movements between the two assets, and the current technical setups suggest SOL’s fate hinges on its ability to resolve the standoff at resistance.
Investors and traders await whether Solana can deliver a breakout as dynamic as BNB’s or if the stagnation below $83 will persist, setting the tone for the asset’s medium-term trajectory.
