Solana posted a record day for new token creation, with more than 263,000 new SPL tokens minted on Wednesday, according to Solscan data cited by Cointelegraph. The figure was well above the 40,000 to 50,000 daily range seen at the peak of the memecoin cycle in December 2024. Of the 40,360 tokens launched through launchpads, Pump.fun accounted for 34,184, making it the dominant venue in that segment. The report said launchpads let creators design, issue, and trade memecoins without deep technical knowledge, while automating token creation and giving new assets immediate liquidity and visibility. DefiLlama data also showed that Pump.fun remained Solana’s top native protocol by daily revenue, generating $1.8 million over the past 24 hours. Last Friday, however, its daily revenue was briefly surpassed by Fomo, a trading app that combines crypto trading with social media features. Even with memecoin activity cooling, Pump.fun contributed $124 million of Solana’s $342 million in total revenue in the first quarter of 2026, or roughly one-third of the total.

Solana recorded its highest single-day total for new token issuance, with more than 263,000 new SPL tokens minted on Wednesday, according to Solscan data cited by Cointelegraph.

That total exceeded the 40,000 to 50,000 tokens issued per day during the peak of the memecoin cycle in December 2024.

Pump.fun led launchpad issuance

Among the 40,360 tokens issued through launchpads, memecoin platform Pump.fun accounted for 34,184, representing the majority of that segment.

The report said launchpads allow creators to design, issue, and trade memecoins without requiring extensive technical expertise. They also automate the token creation process and give newly issued tokens immediate liquidity and exposure.

Protocol revenue stayed strong

According to DefiLlama, Pump.fun was the highest-earning native protocol on Solana by daily revenue over the past 24 hours, bringing in $1.8 million.

Its daily revenue was briefly overtaken last Friday by Fomo, a trading app that combines cryptocurrency trading with social media functions.

Roughly one-third of Solana revenue in Q1

Despite a cooldown in memecoin activity, Pump.fun still contributed $124 million of Solana’s total $342 million revenue in the first quarter of 2026, or about one-third of the total.
