Soluna Holdings has signed a fourth capacity expansion with Blockware, adding 3.3 MW at Project Dorothy 1B, a wind-powered data center in West Texas. The new agreement lifts Blockware’s total deployed capacity across Soluna sites to more than 17 MW.
The deal also gives Dorothy 1B its first customer. Soluna said the facility has 25 MW of capacity and is co-located with the Briscoe Wind Farm. The company previously acquired the Briscoe Wind Farm in a $53 million transaction, giving it direct control over power production at the Project Dorothy campus. In that setup, electricity from the wind farm feeds straight into the data center instead of relying on the grid.
March deployment follows Soluna’s behind-the-meter model
Deployment for the latest expansion began in March 2026. Soluna said the project fits its behind-the-meter model, which directs surplus renewable power into bitcoin mining and AI computing workloads. Chief executive John Belizaire said the company was pleased to expand its partnership with Blockware for the fourth time and bring the customer to a new site. He also said Soluna remains focused on reliable infrastructure powered by renewables for AI and bitcoin mining as it scales.
This growth has come in stages, not as replacement contracts. In February 2026, Soluna added 6 MW for Blockware at Dorothy 1A, another site in West Texas. The company said each new agreement has built on the prior one.
Blockware becomes the first customer at Dorothy 1B
Blockware chief executive Mason Jappa said the miner’s growth has tracked Soluna’s ability to bring new sites online. In his view, that rollout has allowed Blockware to deepen the partnership and scale with it. Blockware operates as a bitcoin mining infrastructure provider and works with miners seeking dependable hosted capacity. Since the relationship began, it has expanded its footprint across Soluna facilities through multiple contracts.
Soluna trades on Nasdaq under the ticker SLNH and develops green data centers for compute-intensive applications. The company is based in Albany, New York, and has presented its West Texas campus as a multi-site operation tied to the same renewable energy source.
Shares rise as Soluna outlines Dorothy 3 plans
On Tuesday at about 10:24 a.m. Eastern, Soluna shares were up 3.2%. Over the last five trading sessions, the stock had gained more than 29%, and over the last 30 days of Nasdaq trading, it was up 100%. At press time, shares were changing hands at $1.43.
With Dorothy 1B now operating for its first customer, Soluna also said it plans to develop Project Dorothy 3 at the Briscoe campus. The company did not give a timeline and said more details would be released as development moves ahead. The expansion adds to a broader push by bitcoin mining operators seeking direct access to low-cost renewable power, especially through behind-the-meter facilities built next to wind and solar generation sites.
