SoSoValue data shows that, as of 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time on Aug. 31, 2026, publicly listed companies worldwide excluding mining firms recorded a combined weekly net purchase of $513 million in Bitcoin, up 529.6% from the previous week. Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, accounted for the largest disclosed buy, purchasing 4,603 BTC at an average price of $80,318 for about $370 million and lifting its total holdings to 845,050 BTC. The purchase marked the company’s first Bitcoin buy in nine weeks. In contrast, Japan-listed Metaplanet did not buy any Bitcoin last week, extending its pause to seven consecutive weeks. Separately, asset manager Strive said on Aug. 31 that it spent about $143 million last week to acquire 1,800 BTC at $79,431 each, bringing its holdings to about 23,156 BTC. French Bitcoin treasury company Capital B also said it had raised 21 million euros, or about $24.5 million, from investors and institutions including Adam Back to fund Bitcoin purchases. Altogether, the tracked public companies held 1,147,229 BTC, worth about $89.6 billion and equal to 5.7% of Bitcoin’s circulating market capitalization at press time.
