South Korean pension funds, including the National Pension Service (NPS), turned into net buyers of local equities this month for the first time this year, according to Korea Exchange data cited by Odaily. As of July 24, the NPS and other pension funds had posted cumulative net purchases of 68.4 billion won worth of KOSPI component stocks since the start of July, or about $46.8 million. The shift follows six straight months of net selling and marks the first month in 2026 in which pension funds have recorded net buying in the South Korean stock market. On a single-name basis, SK Hynix drew the largest pension-fund buying interest in July, with net purchases reaching 425.8 billion won.
