Wind data showed that CSOP Dongxi Select (3441) recorded HK$339 million in turnover for the day, compared with daily turnover below HK$100 million throughout the past three months. Ping An Technology Select (3406) and Ping An Dongxi Select (3477) each logged more than HK$100 million in turnover, both setting record highs while also showing a clear surge in activity. One institutional source said some insurers have recently received notice of relevant implementation details and may have started buying Hong Kong Stock Connect ETFs included in the mutual market access mechanism. The person added that other insurance institutions may follow. Industry participants said the entry of insurance capital could broaden the investor base for southbound ETF products, bring in more long-term funds, lift market activity, and strengthen Hong Kong’s role as a hub for cross-border asset allocation.
