Democratizing Blockchain Development with AI
Space and Time, the data warehouse powerhouse known for securing onchain finance, has officially launched Dreamspace, an artificial intelligence-powered no-code app builder that allows users to generate and deploy fully functional decentralized applications without writing a single line of code. Built in collaboration with Microsoft Azure AI Foundry and Base, Coinbase's high-speed Layer 2 network, Dreamspace aims to pivot sophisticated financial-grade infrastructure into the hands of the broader creator economy.
How Dreamspace Works
The AI app builder operates on a simple premise: users provide a text description of their desired application, and the platform's AI engine handles the rest—including automatically generated smart contract logic ready for deployment. By making every contract transparent, the app allows creators to verify exactly how their application behaves onchain. These apps inherit the same secure data layer used by major financial institutions. Technically, Dreamspace runs on Base, enabling sub-cent transaction fees, sub-second transaction speeds, and full Ethereum Virtual Machine compatibility. This ensures commercial viability for creators building micro-transaction-based business models.
Early Adoption and Educational Impact
Although the official public launch occurred on April 23, Dreamspace already saw massive engagement during its beta phase, with more than 34,000 apps created. The platform is also making waves in education. In Indonesia, several schools have integrated Dreamspace into their curricula, establishing AI labs with the goal of reaching more than 140,000 students. Nate Holiday, co-founder of Space and Time, stated: “Dreamspace is where that infrastructure meets the people building the next wave of the internet.” Eric Brown, head of AI developer relations at Base, added: “This exciting new project makes starting an onchain business as simple as having an idea worth building.”
Microsoft's Strategic Investment
Dreamspace's technical pedigree is a result of deep industry partnerships. It utilizes Azure OpenAI and was developed with the support of M12, Microsoft's venture fund, which led a $20 million investment in Space and Time in 2022. Michael Stewart, managing partner at M12, noted: “Dreamspace puts that foundation to work for a completely different kind of builder,” signaling a shift where complex blockchain infrastructure becomes an invisible, effortless tool for the global workforce. The successful launch builds on Space and Time's earlier mainnet release for zero-knowledge-proven data, further cementing its role as a key infrastructure provider in the Web3 ecosystem.
