On-chain data reveals that SpaceX has moved Bitcoin between its labeled wallets for the first time in about six months. According to Arkham data, the total transfer amount was less than $300 and was not sent to any known exchange deposit address.
SpaceX currently holds approximately 18,712 BTC, worth around $1.16 billion at current market prices. Since its June IPO filing made its BTC holdings public, the company's wallet activities have drawn increased scrutiny.
Tiny Transfers Unlikely to Signal Selling
These recent moves are not isolated. On July 7, a SpaceX-linked address sent about $88 in BTC to another company-controlled address. The sending address was labeled as Coinbase Prime Custody, suggesting the transaction may be related to custodial asset management.
Two additional transfers were recorded: one of approximately 0.00213 BTC ($135) and another of 0.00139 BTC ($89). Coinbase Prime also sent about 0.000738 BTC ($47) to a SpaceX address.
Such small-scale transactions are typically used to test wallet access, pay network fees, confirm target addresses, or adjust custodial arrangements. Compared to SpaceX’s overall Bitcoin holdings, these operations are minimal.
No Exchange Deposits Observed
Market participants paid close attention to the fact that none of the transfers went to known exchange deposit addresses. Transfers to exchanges are often seen as early indicators of potential asset sales. However, available data does not indicate that SpaceX has sold any Bitcoin.
Prior to these transactions, SpaceX had shown no notable wallet movement for six months. In earlier, larger transfers, company-controlled addresses and Coinbase Prime custody handled up to 1,000 BTC without direct exchange sales.
SpaceX has not made any public statements about the new activity. Nonetheless, investors and analysts continue to monitor companies with publicly known Bitcoin reserves, as exchange listings have increased scrutiny.
Observers compared the recent moves to those of Strategy, another major institutional BTC holder, which sold 3,588 BTC (about $216 million) between June 29 and July 5. By contrast, SpaceX’s transfers were far smaller and never left company-controlled wallets.
