ChainCatcher, citing Jinshi, reported that SpaceX (SPCX.O) shares began trading today, while options contracts linked to the company’s stock are scheduled to start trading next Tuesday. The report said SpaceX raised $75 billion at a valuation of $1.765 trillion. Its shares opened at $150, above the IPO offering price of $135.

A spokesperson confirmed that the options will trade on exchanges including the Chicago Board Options Exchange, or CBOE, and Nasdaq. These derivatives give investors a way to take positions on the future movement of the stock, while also providing a tool to hedge against declines in the share price.

The report said the derivatives may see strong demand. A surge in options trading volume may further increase demand for stock trading. With the stock already trading and the options launch date set for next Tuesday, SpaceX (SPCX.O) will have related trading activity extending from shares into the options market.
