Germany’s savings bank group Sparkassen has enabled Bitcoin trading through a banking app provided by DekaBank, according to ChainCatcher. DekaBank currently lists five savings banks participating in the service, while more than 230 other savings banks have expressed interest in joining.
Based on information disclosed by DekaBank, each Bitcoin trade carries a fee of 0.99 euros plus a spread. Withdrawals are restricted to custodians approved by DekaBank. The setup places Bitcoin trading inside existing banking apps used by Sparkassen customers rather than through a separate crypto platform.
DekaBank is the securities services and asset management institution under Germany’s Savings Banks Finance Group. The move brings direct Bitcoin trading access into the group’s established banking application infrastructure.
