Squid has integrated RLUSD, enabling one-transaction transfers and swaps across XRPL, Ethereum, Base, Optimism and other supported chains, while also opening API and SDK access for developers.

Cross-chain protocol Squid has integrated Ripple USD, or RLUSD, giving users a way to move and swap the stablecoin across XRP Ledger, Ethereum, Base, Optimism, and other supported networks in a single transaction. Squid said its protocol now acts as the cross-chain transfer and swap layer for RLUSD.

That means users can send RLUSD between chains or enter the stablecoin from assets such as USDC, USDT, ETH, and XRP without using separate bridges or splitting the process into multiple transactions. The integration cuts down the number of steps. It also removes the need for manual wrapping during the transfer flow.

One transaction now covers cross-chain movement and swaps

RLUSD is issued natively on the XRP Ledger and Ethereum. According to the report, the stablecoin has been one of the fastest-growing regulated stablecoins since its 2024 launch, with market capitalization above $1.8 billion and monthly transfer volume in the billions of dollars.

Squid said its routing infrastructure sources liquidity across multiple networks to complete transfers and swaps. For users, that creates a more direct route to RLUSD from different blockchain ecosystems. For firms and on-chain participants, it reduces the operational friction tied to moving value across separate environments.

Developer access arrives through API, SDK and widget tools

The rollout is not limited to end users. RLUSD is now available through Squid’s API, SDK, and widget products, giving developers a way to build cross-chain functions into payments, treasury, settlement, and onboarding products without assembling that stack on their own.

Projects already using Squid infrastructure in the XRPL ecosystem include lending platform Strobe, payments provider Girin, wallet providers D’CENT and Ondex, token launchpad Risepad, and engagement platform OnchainGM. AhnLab Blockchain Company has also integrated Squid technology to support digital asset management across XRPL and the wider multichain ecosystem.

Ripple keeps extending RLUSD beyond its original networks

Ripple Stablecoin Product Lead Lauren Berta said growing demand for RLUSD requires the asset to move efficiently across active blockchain ecosystems. Squid co-founder Fig said the company is supporting Ripple’s effort to make RLUSD available across multiple networks.

The article also notes that Ripple has been expanding RLUSD beyond its original chains in recent months. Through Wormhole’s Native Token Transfer infrastructure, the stablecoin is already available across several Ethereum Layer-2 ecosystems. With Squid now handling cross-chain routing and swaps, RLUSD gains wider access for DeFi, payments, treasury operations, asset transfers, and other on-chain financial uses across more blockchain environments.
