Liquid staking protocol Stader Labs has announced that it will gradually phase out MaticX, its Polygon liquid staking token. Effective immediately, MaticX has stopped accepting new deposits and has moved fully into a claims-only status. Under this arrangement, the product is no longer open for fresh inflows, while the remaining process is focused on redemption and claims for existing users.

MaticX dApp frontend to go offline on August 3, 2026

According to the announcement, the MaticX application frontend will be officially taken offline on August 3, 2026. Before that date, users will still be able to use the dApp to carry out instant redemption at a fixed exchange rate and receive the corresponding MATIC assets. This creates a defined period during which holders can still complete the process through the frontend interface.

After the frontend is closed on August 3, 2026, the claims process will continue through a separate route. For the three-year period ending on August 3, 2029, users will still be able to claim their MATIC assets directly through the relevant contract page on Etherscan. The timeline set out by Stader Labs separates the dApp-based instant redemption phase from the later contract-page claims phase.
