Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) has once again expanded its bitcoin treasury, purchasing 1,031 BTC for approximately $76.6 million, according to a statement from founder Michael Saylor on Monday. The acquisition was executed at an average price of roughly $74,326 per bitcoin. As of March 22, 2026, the company’s total bitcoin holdings stand at 762,099 BTC, with an aggregate cost of about $57.69 billion and an average purchase price of nearly $75,694 per coin.
Steady Accumulation Despite Market Fluctuations
Even though bitcoin prices remain below previous all-time highs, Strategy has maintained a disciplined buying cadence, prioritizing long-term accumulation over short-term market timing. “Strategy acquired 1,031 BTC for ~$76.6 million at ~$74,326 per bitcoin. As of March 22, 2026, we hodl 762,099 BTC acquired for ~$57.69 billion at ~$75,694 per bitcoin,” Saylor said on Monday, reiterating the firm’s commitment to transparent reporting. The latest purchase reinforces Strategy’s position as the largest publicly known corporate holder of bitcoin, far ahead of any other company. While some enterprises have paused their crypto exposure during the current market phase, Strategy has continued to treat bitcoin as a core reserve asset, demonstrating conviction that transcends price cycles.
Benchmark for Corporate Bitcoin Adoption
Strategy’s consistent accumulation has become a template for corporate bitcoin adoption. Since beginning its purchase program in 2020, the company has transformed from a traditional software firm into a de facto bitcoin investment vehicle. Founder Michael Saylor has repeatedly argued that bitcoin is a scarce digital asset with superior long-term value storage properties compared to gold or fiat currencies. As institutional interest in digital assets grows, Strategy’s massive hoard could encourage more corporations to allocate a portion of their treasuries to bitcoin. The company now controls roughly 3.6% of the total bitcoin supply that will ever exist (21 million), giving it significant influence over market dynamics.
