Strategy has disclosed another roughly $1 billion Bitcoin purchase, lifting its total holdings to 780,897 BTC and bringing the company close to the 781,000-BTC mark. The update appeared in a recent filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, showing the firm is still expanding its crypto treasury.

According to the filing, Strategy acquired 13,927 Bitcoin over the past week at an average price of $71,902 per coin. The purchase came during a volatile stretch in the market. It was also executed below the company’s overall average acquisition price, trimming its aggregate cost basis slightly.

Latest buy came in below the company’s average cost

As of April 12, Strategy held 780,897 BTC in total. The company said the cumulative value of its Bitcoin purchases now stands at about $59.02 billion, while its average cost basis across all acquisitions is $75,577 per BTC. Because the most recent buy was completed below that level, the transaction modestly improved the average entry price of the broader position.

The filing points to a continuation of an established accumulation program rather than a one-off trade. Strategy has expanded its Bitcoin reserves across multiple market cycles, and its current stash keeps it among the world’s largest corporate Bitcoin holders.

Purchase funded through stock issuance program

Strategy said the entire acquisition was funded through its at-the-market stock offering program, not through new debt. That structure allows the company to raise capital incrementally and time purchases with more flexibility. For a firm that has made repeated large Bitcoin buys, the source of funding is a material part of the strategy.

The SEC filing also showed that Strategy still has large funding capacity available for future purchases. It retains $21.64 billion under its preferred stock issuance program and another $27.09 billion under its common stock program. Compared with the latest roughly $1 billion purchase, the remaining capacity is substantial and leaves room for additional accumulation.

Holdings move within reach of 781,000 BTC

With the latest buy completed, Strategy’s Bitcoin treasury is now just short of 781,000 BTC. Based on the company’s latest disclosure, Bitcoin remains a core treasury asset rather than a short-term trading position. Its current holdings, total capital deployed, and unused fundraising capacity now define the scale of its next potential moves.
