Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), the largest corporate Bitcoin holder, has accelerated its buying spree. According to a Jan 12 announcement, the company acquired 13,627 Bitcoin between Jan 5 and Jan 11, 2026, spending approximately $1.247 billion — an average of $91,519 per BTC (including fees).
13,627 BTC Bought in One Week at $91,519 Average
The fresh purchase pushes Strategy's total Bitcoin stash to 687,410 BTC, with an aggregate cost of $51.8 billion and an average holding price of $75,353 per coin. The company remains the largest publicly listed Bitcoin treasury firm globally.
ATM Stock Sales Fund the Entire Purchase
The capital came entirely from at-the-market (ATM) equity offerings. Between Jan 5 and Jan 11, Strategy sold 1,192,262 shares of its STRC Series A perpetual preferred stock, raising $119.1 million net, and 6,827,695 shares of MSTR Class A common stock, netting $1.1285 billion. Combined proceeds of $1.2476 billion matched the Bitcoin buy amount almost perfectly.
As of Jan 11, the company still holds significant ATM capacity across its securities, leaving room for further Bitcoin accumulation — a pattern the market will watch closely.
