Strategy Inc., the world's largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, disclosed on March 2 in an SEC 8-K filing that it purchased 3,015 BTC between Feb 23 and Mar 1. The total purchase price was approximately $204.1 million, with an average cost of $67,700 per coin including fees.

ATM Stock Sales Fund the Purchase

The company raised about $237.1 million (net of commissions) by selling 1,730,563 shares of Class A common stock (MSTR) and 71,590 shares of its variable-rate Series A perpetual preferred stock (STRC) under its at-the-market offering program. Proceeds were fully deployed to add more Bitcoin.

Total Hoard Hits 720,737 BTC

As of March 1, Strategy held 720,737 BTC, acquired at a cumulative cost of roughly $54.77 billion. The historical average price stands at $75,985 per Bitcoin — higher than the latest purchase level, reflecting the company's dollar-cost averaging approach during recent price dips.

Dividend Moves and Transparency Push

Separately, the board declared cash dividends on multiple preferred stock series, with certain perpetual preferred shares seeing an annual dividend rate adjustment to 11.50%, payable March 31. Strategy also directed investors to its online dashboard for real-time data on securities prices, Bitcoin holdings, and key performance metrics. The filing reinforces Strategy's commitment to Bitcoin as its primary treasury reserve asset.
