Strategy shareholders approved a proposal on Oct. 28 to switch the company’s STRC preferred stock to daily dividend payments, according to analysis cited by ChainCatcher from Bitfinex. Preliminary results showed 99.3% of votes backed the measure. STRC is expected to move from twice-monthly payouts to daily distributions starting Nov. 1, with the first cash dividend scheduled to arrive on Nov. 2. Strategy’s other three preferred shares — STRF, STRK and STRD — are expected to adopt the same structure in January 2027. The company said the change is meant to reduce price swings around ex-dividend dates. CEO Phong Le said STRC used to fall by an average of about 49 basis points around ex-dividend dates when it paid monthly. After the schedule shifted to twice-monthly payments, that average decline narrowed to about 36 basis points. Strategy expects daily payouts to spread out selling pressure and improve price stability. Bitfinex also noted that Strategy is not the first company to use this model. Bitcoin treasury firm Strive changed its SATA preferred shares to daily dividends in June and launched SATS, a junior preferred stock with a fixed 15% annualized dividend rate. In October, Strive sold 7 million SATS shares at $90 each, raising about $630 million, and used roughly $511 million of that amount to buy 6,182 BTC.

Strive adopted a similar structure earlier

Bitfinex noted that Strategy is not the first company to use this approach. Bitcoin treasury company Strive changed its SATA preferred shares to daily dividend payments in June this year and also launched SATS, a junior preferred stock carrying a fixed 15% annualized dividend rate.

In October, Strive issued 7 million SATS shares at $90 per share, raising about $630 million. It then used about $511 million of the proceeds to purchase 6,182 BTC.
