Strategy is facing a severe market confidence crisis, with its stock price plunging significantly. To address liquidity pressures and maintain its credit rating, the company has introduced a Digital Credit Capital Framework, which includes institutionalized cryptocurrency (mainly Bitcoin) sales to generate cash flow.

Key Components of the Framework
The framework consists of three pillars: USD reserve requirements — the company must hold a minimum level of dollar assets to cover short-term liabilities; dynamic dividend assessment — dividend payouts are adjusted based on cash flow conditions and Bitcoin price volatility; and a Bitcoin monetization plan — BTC is sold in predefined tranches rather than through emergency liquidations.

Market Reaction and Skepticism
In the short term, the market reacted positively to the framework, with STR shares rebounding. However, analysts note that this approach essentially means “raising interest rates to support STR and selling Bitcoin to preserve credit,” which comes at a high cost. The company's long-term cash flow pressures have not been alleviated, especially if Bitcoin prices remain low or decline further. Selling BTC in a downturn could trigger a vicious cycle — more sales depress prices, forcing even more sales. Moreover, investors are deeply skeptical about whether Strategy can maintain its generous dividends without further diluting equity or resorting to unplanned Bitcoin sales.
