Strive has lifted its Bitcoin treasury to 16,500 BTC after buying another 1,109 BTC for about $85.4 million, a move that puts the company ahead of Coinbase and Riot Platforms. Based on BitcoinTreasuries data cited in the report, Strive now ranks as the seventh-largest public corporate Bitcoin holder.
An 8-K filing dated May 26 said the company made the purchase between May 19 and May 22 at an average cost of roughly $76,988 per Bitcoin. CEO Matt Cole also posted on X that Strive had acquired the additional 1,109 BTC and shared an internal snapshot showing company performance metrics.
May buying streak pushed holdings past Coinbase
The latest purchase came after two earlier acquisitions in May. The company bought 382 BTC for $30 million on May 18, then added 444 BTC for $33.9 million earlier in the month. Taken together, those transactions sharply increased the size of Strive’s treasury in a short span.
The report said Strive held 12,798 BTC when it completed its acquisition of Semler Scientific in January 2026, which placed it eleventh among public corporate holders at that time. Since then, it has added more than 3,700 BTC and climbed four spots in the rankings.
Equity sales and SATA shares funded the accumulation
Strive has been financing its Bitcoin purchases mainly through at-the-market equity sales and its Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Preferred Stock, known as SATA shares. Those preferred shares carry a 13% annual dividend.
According to the source material, the SATA offering raised more than $225 million in an oversubscribed round in January 2026, while demand exceeded $600 million. That gave the company a continuing capital base for additional Bitcoin purchases.
Yield metrics show how Strive measures treasury performance
Strive reported a year-to-date Bitcoin yield of 23.4%, a quarter-to-date yield of 11.0%, and an amplification ratio of 45.2%. The company defines Bitcoin yield as the percentage change in Bitcoin per share outstanding, using that figure as its main benchmark against Bitcoin exposure.
In the current public-company standings, Strive sits just above Coinbase’s 16,492 BTC and comfortably ahead of Riot’s 15,680 BTC. Strategy remains far in front with 818,334 BTC, showing that corporate Bitcoin ownership is still concentrated among a relatively small group of firms.
