Supra has expanded its SupraEVM Beta Bounty with a new personal commitment from co-founder and CEO Joshua Tobkin, who said he will offer up to $1 million worth of his own SUPRA tokens to any developer or research team that can demonstrate a parallel EVM execution engine faster than SupraBTM under defined conditions. The reward sits alongside the foundation’s existing $40,000 USDC performance-based bounty.

According to Supra, no team has yet exceeded the benchmarks set by SupraBTM in public testing. The company says the execution engine, which powers SupraEVM, remains ahead of known parallel EVM systems tested publicly, including Monad.

Challenge requires open-source and reproducible results

Supra set detailed requirements for any submission seeking the bounty. Entries must be open source, verifiable, and reproducible. They must process at least 100,000 consecutive Ethereum mainnet blocks, run on commodity hardware using no more than 16 CPU cores, and show at least a 15% performance improvement across 4, 8, and 16 thread configurations. Benchmark results must be published publicly and submitted for community and independent verification.

The code also has to remain available for audit under an open-source license. Participants can either claim the reward directly or continue working with Supra’s engineering organization. Supra said the token reward comes from Tobkin’s personal allocation, unlocks in 2027, and vests over two years. It is separate from the project’s treasury and core operations.

SupraBTM benchmarked against Monad on identical hardware

Supra argues that transaction execution is still one of the main constraints on scaling decentralized applications, especially inside the EVM where safe and deterministic parallel execution remains difficult. The company describes SupraBTM as an execution architecture that accounts for conflicts, reduces overhead, anticipates transaction collisions, and schedules execution through statically analyzed dependency graphs instead of relying on speculative execution and frequent rollbacks.

In benchmarks released by the project, SupraBTM was tested on 10,000 Ethereum mainnet blocks and compared directly with Monad’s 2-Phase Execution approach on the same machine: a 16-core AMD 4564P CPU with 192 GB RAM. Supra reported 1.5x to 1.7x higher throughput than Monad across different workloads and about 4x to 7x faster performance than traditional sequential EVM execution. It also said the engine maintained consistent results under high-conflict conditions common in DeFi and arbitrage activity.

Supra presents itself as a vertically integrated Layer 1 built for Automatic DeFi, or AutoFi, with high-speed smart contracts, native price oracles, system-level automation, and bridgeless cross-chain messaging. The new challenge puts its parallel EVM claims into a public technical contest rather than leaving them as internal performance claims.
