Taiwan’s virtual asset sector is set for a major industry gathering. The Bitcoin and Virtual Asset Development Association (BCDA) will host the “2026-2027 Virtual Asset Future Trends Forum & Taiwan Blockchain Industry Ecosystem Map Launch” on May 7, 2026 at the NCCU Public Service Center in Taipei. The event is expected to bring together over 100 industry leaders, regulators, and investors to map out the latest developments in Taiwan’s Web3 space.

First Public Release: 2026-2027 Taiwan Blockchain Industry Map

The centerpiece of the forum is the “2026-2027 Taiwan Blockchain Industry Ecosystem Map”, personally presented by BCDA Chairperson Hsu Pei-ling. Built on previous survey work by AppWorks, the map provides an updated inventory of Taiwan’s blockchain landscape, covering more than 100 benchmark firms across exchanges, payments, custody, cybersecurity, and application layers. It serves both as a showcase of Taiwan’s Web3 capabilities and a reference for domestic and international investors.

Four Core Panel Themes: From Compliance to Bitcoin ETFs

The forum features four panel discussions addressing the most pressing topics in the virtual asset space:

Stablecoins & Payment Scenarios: Local players including MaiCoin Pay, Odin, HOYA BIT, and ZONE Wallet discuss practical outlooks for Taiwan’s stablecoin and payment ecosystems.

Global Exchange Landscape: Representatives from BingX and Binance analyze the next growth wave in global markets.

Bitcoin ETFs & TradFi–Web3 Bridge: KPMG COO Lin Ta-chung, Taishin Financial Director Lin Chia-chen, a BitGo senior director, and Taiwan Mobile Web3 VP Han Kun-chu explore how bitcoin ETFs can bridge traditional finance with Web3.

Bitcoin Ecosystem Updates: Senior blockchain experts share the latest global bitcoin developments and applications.

Leaders from Government, Industry & Academia Unite

Notable attendees include Legislator Ko Ju-chun (Dr. Bao) and CTBC Life Insurance Chairman Hsu Shu-bo. BCDA Chairperson Hsu Pei-ling stated: “2026 is a pivotal year for Taiwan’s virtual asset industry to move toward professionalization and legalization. Through the ecosystem map launch and cross-sector dialogue, we aim to build a transparent and dynamic platform that helps government and the private sector reach consensus, positioning Taiwan as a compliant and innovative hub for global blockchain development.”

The event is supported by AppWorks, the ROC Virtual Currency Business Association, the AI Foundation, the Taiwan Blockchain Enthusiasts Association, the Taiwan Virtual Asset Anti-Money Laundering Association, the Taiwan Digital Asset and Open Technology Association, the Taiwan Blockchain University Alliance, and FUTUREMODE Taipei Future Festival.

Registration is free and open to the public. Full details can be found on the Accupass event page.
