Tapbit has issued an official statement saying that platforms operating under the names Tbit and TPBIT are not affiliated with the company, warning that copycat operators are using similar domains, branding, and interface designs to trick users into surrendering account credentials.

The company said the confusion stems from impersonators that closely imitate Tapbit’s corporate identity while altering or dropping letters in web addresses to create deceptive lookalike sites. Tapbit stated that it operates only through its verified corporate identity and official domains, and that any platform presented as “Tbit” is an unauthorized entity with no legal or operational connection to the genuine brand.

Impersonation extends beyond cloned websites

Tapbit said the fraud is not limited to fake websites. According to the statement, bad actors are also reaching users through direct messages on Telegram, WhatsApp, and X, posing as customer support staff and asking for verification codes or private seed phrases.

The company also described unauthorized investment groups using the cloned identity to recruit users into fake channels. These groups allegedly promote guaranteed daily returns and fabricated trading signals, then push victims to deposit funds into fraudulent applications. Tapbit said legitimate platforms do not promise risk-free returns, pointing to the volatility of financial markets.

What users should verify before logging in

To reduce losses tied to brand confusion, Tapbit highlighted several checks for users. The first is domain verification: users should inspect the URL carefully and make sure it spells TAPBIT correctly before entering any login information. Small character changes can point to an entirely different site.

The company also said genuine trading platforms process standard transaction fees during the transaction flow and that Tapbit does not ask users to make upfront payments, “advance taxes,” or security deposits in order to release frozen or held funds. Official support, it added, is available only through verified links listed on the authentic website, and representatives will never request private security credentials.

CEO calls user awareness the first line of defense

Tapbit Chief Executive Officer Milton Cogo said in the statement: “Security starts with awareness. The strongest protection is an informed user. Technology plays an important role in protecting digital assets, but users themselves remain the first line of defense. Education, verification, and responsible decision-making are essential components of long-term security.”

Tapbit said it was established in 2021 and serves users across more than 190 regions. The platform offers cryptocurrency derivatives, spot trading, and copy trading. In the statement, the company urged users to rely only on the official website and the verified social media accounts, Telegram communities, and other digital channels listed there when checking links or contacting support.
