Tether and Fasanara Capital have launched StableFund, an evergreen private credit vehicle backed by an initial $400 million commitment from the two firms. The partners said the fund aims to bring in as much as $3 billion in third-party institutional capital to expand stablecoin-backed lending tied to the real economy. Fasanara will serve as investment manager and deploy capital through its global fintech lending network into short-duration, asset-backed credit strategies. Tether will act as co-originator, loan opportunity originator, and adviser, focusing on financing opportunities connected to USDT while also providing the stablecoin settlement, on- and off-ramp, and treasury management infrastructure needed for the fund. The vehicle is designed to embed USDT into fintech platforms operating in more than 60 countries, with lending aimed at small and medium-sized businesses as well as consumers. Tether said the structure is intended to improve the flow efficiency of cross-border credit capital. It also pointed to an estimated $5.7 trillion global financing gap for SMEs.

How the fund will operate
