The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission said three companies have notified the agency of plans to operate tokenized securities venues under a new innovation exemption policy, according to a post on X by a Fox Business crypto reporter. The list includes TSV LLC, which is owned by Obsidian Systems co-founders Ali Abrar and Ryan Trinkle and plans to operate on Canton Network. Trinkle also serves on the board of the Canton Foundation. Another applicant is OKXICE, a joint venture between OKX and ICE Markets that plans to run on OKX’s Ethereum layer-2 network, X Layer. The third is Kephas Corp., the U.S. subsidiary of Perpetuals.com, led by founder @PGruhnPDC, who previously headed FTX Europe. Its venue is planned for Kronos X Public, described as a public, permissionless layer-2 network that uses permissioned trading pools. The SEC said inclusion on the list does not mean any of the companies has met the conditions required for the innovation exemption.
