Bitmine Chairman Tom Lee said in a recent interview with the Milk Road Show that asset tokenization and AI agent finance will be the two dominant themes in crypto over the next five years. He argued that Ethereum could develop into the base settlement layer for the global financial system and said ETH remains deeply undervalued relative to BTC.
Lee also outlined four catalysts that, in his view, could support ETH through the rest of 2026: possible passage of the U.S. Clarity Act in September, the return of sidelined capital and over-the-counter short flows, renewed crypto allocation from Asian capital, and performance-chasing by institutional fund managers facing quarterly reporting pressure. He said the ETH/BTC exchange rate could climb back to its historical high of 0.08.
He added that even if the pair only recovers conservatively to 0.04, ETH would imply a price of $6,000 if BTC reaches $150,000. While Lee said Bitcoin still has long-term upside, he framed broad asset tokenization and AI-driven financial agents as the larger industry themes for the coming five years.

Lee points to two defining crypto themes
According to Lee, the bigger story for the industry over the next five years will be a 「supercycle of full asset tokenization」 and 「AI agent finance」. He framed those two areas as the main forces likely to shape the market’s next phase.
Four catalysts Lee sees for ETH in the rest of 2026
Lee said ETH could be driven by four catalysts during the remainder of 2026:
- Possible passage of the U.S. Clarity Act in September;
- A return of over-the-counter short positioning and sidelined capital;
- Renewed reallocation into crypto assets by Asian capital;
- Institutional fund managers globally chasing the best-performing crypto assets under quarterly performance pressure.
His ETH/BTC and ETH price view
Lee said the ETH/BTC exchange rate could return to its historical high of 0.08. He added that even a more conservative recovery to 0.04 would put ETH at $6,000 if BTC reaches $150,000.
At the same time, Lee said Bitcoin still has long-term upside. Even so, he described a broad asset-tokenization supercycle and AI agent finance as the larger themes for the crypto industry over the coming five years.
