Top 100 tokens show a mixed trading session
The top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization delivered a mixed performance, according to CoinMarketCap data, underscoring a market that lacked a single clear direction during the session. Among the strongest movers, Midnight (NIGHT) climbed 11.84% to $0.04777, making it the best-performing token in the top-100 ranking for the day.
Other notable gainers followed behind NIGHT. DeXe (DEXE) rose 6.52% to $7.37, while Kite (KITE) added 5.56% to reach $0.2281. Meme coins also participated in the upside, with Shiba Inu (SHIB) up 5.50% and Pepe (PEPE) gaining 5.36%. The moves suggest that capital rotation remained active in selected high-beta tokens rather than lifting the broader market evenly.
RIVER posts the steepest drop
On the downside, River (RIVER) fell 4.62% to $25.87, marking the largest decline among the top 100 tokens. Ethena (ENA) slipped 3.41% to $0.09441, while Decred (DCR) dropped 3.15% and Kaspa (KAS) lost 3.04%. TRON (TRX) also moved lower, declining 2.88% to $0.3055.
The session highlighted a clearly selective market: some tokens posted strong daily gains, while others retreated despite remaining within the same large-cap cohort. That kind of divergence often points to fast-moving sector rotation and a trading environment where short-term momentum can shift quickly from one token group to another.
While daily leaderboard moves can attract attention, they capture only a short-term snapshot of market activity. Investors typically need to weigh price action alongside liquidity, broader sentiment, and project fundamentals before drawing conclusions about longer-term direction.
