Travel booking platform Travala has officially integrated XRP payments, allowing users to reserve over 2.2 million hotels worldwide with the digital asset. According to Travala, the move aligns directly with XRP's core purpose as a tool for fast value transfer—enabling instant settlements without relying on traditional banks.
Travala noted that using XRP for hotel bookings follows the asset's original design focus on rapid value transfer, offering travelers a seamless and efficient payment experience. With XRP now live, the platform's total inventory of crypto-eligible travel products has surpassed 3 million, expanding XRP's reach beyond exchanges into the broader consumer travel and hospitality sector.
XRPL x402 Transactions Near 1 Million
The x402 facilitator, launched in February, has driven significant traffic on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). This system lets AI agents pay for services in XRP and RLUSD without needing an API key or account, with each transaction settled directly on the ledger. Recent data shows x402 has processed nearly 1 million intermediary transactions, reflecting growing adoption as more agents, service providers, and businesses connect to the network.
Ripple highlighted that the x402 usage data clearly demonstrates the XRP Ledger's utility extending well beyond basic trading activity into automated payment workflows.
Ripple Expands AI Payment Toolkit, Joins Mastercard Ecosystem
To accelerate XRP and RLUSD adoption in AI-powered payments, Ripple launched the XRPL AI Starter Kit in June. The toolkit provides developers with the building blocks to create AI agents capable of sending payments over the XRP Ledger, integrating crypto payments into next-generation automated systems.
As AI agents that transact on behalf of businesses become more common, Ripple has joined Mastercard's Agent Pay for Machines ecosystem. The initiative aims to validate new use cases, establish shared protocols, and drive automated payment adoption. Ripple reiterated its commitment to building robust, trust-driven infrastructure for intermediary payments, positioning the XRP Ledger and RLUSD as foundational elements of future digital commerce.
