Truflation has launched a real-time inflation tracker and a personal inflation calculator for Argentina, adding a new source of dynamic economic data for citizens, analysts, and market observers. The platform is designed to provide a transparent and independent view of inflation, giving users an alternative benchmark alongside official government figures.
According to the announcement, the tracker updates across multiple time frames, including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual views. It is built to compare inflation in the Argentine peso (ARS) with officially reported data, allowing users to monitor changes more closely and cross-check public statistics with a separate data source.
A New Tool During Milei’s Economic Reset
The release comes at a pivotal moment for Argentina, where President Javier Milei has pursued aggressive fiscal and monetary reforms since taking office in December 2023. The report says his administration has focused on eliminating the country’s large fiscal deficit, a key factor long associated with Argentina’s inflation crisis. Deep spending cuts reportedly helped produce a fiscal surplus in the first quarter of the year, while the government also moved to strengthen the central bank’s balance sheet by reducing peso-denominated liabilities and increasing foreign assets.
Policy changes have also affected the housing market. Milei’s administration repealed the 2020 Rental Law introduced by the previous government. Citing Truflation-related reporting, the article notes that rental supply in Buenos Aires rose by 195.23% after the repeal took effect on Dec. 29, 2023. That increase was described as helping stabilize rental prices and giving both tenants and landlords greater flexibility in negotiating lease terms.
Truflation’s data suggests inflation initially jumped after Milei’s early reforms but has been moving sharply lower since late April 2024. While the report does not provide a detailed rate breakdown, the direction of that trend is presented as an important signal for evaluating the broader impact of the reform agenda.
Calculator Aims to Show the Household Impact
Alongside the tracker, Truflation also introduced a personal inflation calculator tailored to Argentina. Users can enter their monthly income and expenses to estimate how inflation is affecting their purchasing power. The company said the tool was developed with access to data made possible through cooperation with the Argentine government, while remaining independently maintained to preserve data integrity and reliability.
For a country where inflation has shaped daily financial behavior for years, tools like these may offer value beyond headline statistics. By combining high-frequency updates with household-level calculations, Truflation is positioning its products as practical instruments for understanding how macroeconomic reforms translate into real-world economic pressure.
