World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a Trump family-backed DeFi platform, has teamed up with Re7 Labs, the innovation arm of London-based Re7 Capital, to launch a vault for its USD1 stablecoin on Binance’s BNB Chain. The initiative, announced on June 27, 2025, marks a strategic push to scale USD1’s utility within the decentralized finance ecosystem.

Vault Deployment and Protocol Integration

The vault will be deployed on Euler and Lista, two decentralized lending and trading protocols, aiming to enhance capital efficiency and transparency. Re7 Labs brings technical expertise from its parent firm, which recently secured up to $10 million from Hong Kong’s VMS Group—the family office’s first major cryptocurrency investment. This collaboration is designed to unlock billions in crypto liquidity by enabling more efficient use of USD1 within the BNB Chain ecosystem.

USD1 Market Size and Institutional Backing

As of the announcement, USD1 boasts a market capitalization of $2.205 billion, with approximately 2.157 billion tokens issued on Binance Smart Chain (BSC) and additional issuance on the Tron network. WLFI’s growth has been fueled by significant capital injections: DWF Labs invested $25 million; Tron founder Justin Sun contributed $75 million and joined as an adviser; and UAE-based Aqua 1 Foundation acquired $100 million worth of WLF tokens, becoming the largest individual investor.

A notable real-world application occurred in May 2025, when Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund entity MGX leveraged USD1 to execute a $2 billion investment in Binance, underscoring the stablecoin’s utility in institutional transactions.

Strategic Implications and Industry Response

Social media reactions highlighted the partnership’s focus on expanding USD1’s ecosystem, with industry commentators noting that the vault could serve as a gateway for bringing more institutional capital into DeFi. WLFI stated that the partnership aligns with broader institutional interest in cryptocurrency and aims to drive USD1 adoption through trusted infrastructure. With a solid market cap and strong backing, USD1 is positioning itself as a contender in the competitive stablecoin landscape, challenging established players like USDT and USDC.
