Trump Media and Technology Group said it plans to create and distribute a new digital token to shareholders through a partnership with Crypto.com. Under the company’s plan, each ultimate beneficial owner would be eligible to receive one token for every whole DJT share, with distribution expected to begin in the near future.

The publicly traded company behind Truth Social said the token is being designed as a rewards mechanism rather than a traditional crypto asset. According to the announcement, holders may receive discounts or other benefits linked to Truth Social, Truth+, and Truth Predict. CEO Devin Nunes said the company intends to use Crypto.com’s blockchain technology and what it described as improved regulatory clarity to carry out the distribution.

Issued on Cronos, but not an ownership instrument

Trump Media said the token will be issued on the Cronos blockchain, though it stressed that the asset does not represent an ownership interest in Trump Media or any other entity. The company also said token holders should not expect rewards tied to profits generated by the managerial efforts of others.

In practical terms, the token is being framed as a non-financial reward product. Benefits would be made available periodically during the year and may include product-related discounts or perks. Trump Media added that the token cannot be transferred and cannot be redeemed for cash.

Stock rose 9% after the announcement

Trump Media shares gained 9% following the news. Even with that move, the stock is still down nearly 60% since the start of the year. crypto.news had previously reported that Trump Media posted a $54.8 million net loss in the third quarter of 2025.

Broader ties between Trump Media and Crypto.com

The token plan is only one part of the relationship between the two companies. Trump Media is also working with Crypto.com on a SPAC merger involving Yorkville Acquisition Corp. to form a new entity called Trump Media Group CRO Strategy. That venture is expected to primarily accumulate CRO, the exchange’s native token, and back the growth of the Cronos ecosystem.

Trump Media announced that deal in August. At the time, it said the new venture would launch with more than $1.4 billion in combined assets, backed by a $5 billion equity line of credit from a Yorkville affiliate.
