TRUMP token fell to about $2.50 ahead of a Mar-a-Lago crypto event, with 24-hour volume rising to $618 million. A reported security incident involving Donald Trump added fresh uncertainty to market sentiment.

TRUMP token slid from around $3 to below $2.50 just hours before Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago crypto conference, marking a drop of nearly 20%. The move erased about $161 million in market value, according to the report, and left the token down 96.5% from its all-time high.

Heavy pre-event selling hit price and volume at the same time

The conference was promoted as a closed-door gathering for major holders, limited to the top 297 wallets, with direct access to Trump for the top 29. As the event drew closer, selling pressure built quickly. The report described the move as a classic “sell the news” trade, with some holders choosing to take profits before the meeting rather than keep exposure through the event.

Trading activity accelerated as the price broke lower. Reported 24-hour volume reached $618 million, up 111%. A decline of that size on sharply higher volume usually points to concentrated selling rather than a routine intraday move.

Reported attack attempt added another layer of uncertainty

Shortly after the token’s drop, the report said Trump was evacuated during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner after a gunman opened fire outside the venue. The article described the episode as a third assassination attempt and said security personnel moved Trump to safety.

JD Vance, Kash Patel, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Melania Trump were also evacuated, with no injuries reported. The incident added fresh uncertainty at a time when sentiment around the token was already under pressure.

Token remains far below its January 2025 peak

The report said TRUMP token reached an all-time high of $75.35 in January 2025. From that level, the token has now fallen 96.5%, wiping out about $18.1 billion in total market value. It also said the break below $2.85 opened the way to $2.48 as the next support, with $2.10 below that if selling continues.

To ease the current downtrend, the token would need to reclaim $2.80 with real buying support. Based on the reported technical levels, that would only stabilize the chart, not guarantee a return to $3.
