Trust Wallet Agent Kit: AI Agents Can Now Operate on Your Behalf Under Your Authority

Trust Wallet announced on Wednesday the launch of Agent Kit, a new developer tool that allows artificial intelligence (AI) agents to perform real cryptocurrency transactions across more than 25 blockchains while ensuring users maintain complete control over their private keys and assets. The release follows last week's launch of the Trust Wallet Developer Portal, which provided read-only access to crypto data across 100+ blockchains. Agent Kit extends this capability from observation to execution, enabling AI agents to act directly on user wallets.

Two Configuration Modes for Different Use Cases

Agent Kit offers two distinct setups to balance automation and user control. In the first mode, developers set up a dedicated agent wallet where they can pre-define permissions, allowing the AI to automatically execute strategies such as dollar-cost averaging, limit orders, and price alerts without requiring approval for each transaction. In the second mode, the AI agent connects to the user's existing Trust Wallet via WalletConnect. In this case, the agent proposes transactions, which the user must manually approve before execution. Trust Wallet emphasizes that in both scenarios, users retain full self-custody of their assets, as the private keys never leave their devices.

Multi-Chain Support and Developer-Friendliness

At launch, Agent Kit supports Ethereum-compatible chains, Solana, Bitcoin, BNB Chain, Cosmos, TON, Aptos, Tron, NEAR, and Sui. Trust Wallet claims this is the widest chain coverage among any AI wallet infrastructure currently available. The toolkit integrates the Model Context Protocol (MCP), a standard for connecting AI systems to external platforms, and can be used via a command-line interface. According to the company, developers can go from account creation to running an AI agent in as little as 15 minutes. Out-of-the-box features include token swaps, limit orders, automated strategies, ENS resolution, ERC-20 approvals, message signing, portfolio tracking, automatic wallet locking, and REST API endpoints for deep integration.

CEO Statement: Trust as the Foundation for AI Finance

Trust Wallet CEO Felix Fan stated: “AI agents need a trusted layer before they can handle users' financial affairs securely. Agent Kit gives developers the tools to build agents that operate within user-defined rules and execute on real wallets.” The company, which has surpassed 220 million downloads, positions Agent Kit as part of its broader vision to become the self-custody infrastructure for AI-driven finance — a foundational layer that allows AI to participate in crypto workflows without requiring users to relinquish asset ownership.

Future Plans: In-Wallet AI Features and Agent Marketplace

Trust Wallet plans to bring AI capabilities directly to end users through its mobile app in the coming months, including in-wallet analytics, automated strategies, and personalized alerts. The roadmap also includes a standalone Agent Marketplace where developers can publish reusable agent strategies and trading bots that users can deploy directly from their wallets. This initiative arrives amid a broader industry trend: companies such as Circle, Binance, and Coinbase have all launched tools and infrastructure tailored to the emerging agent economy. By emphasizing self-custody, Trust Wallet differentiates itself in a space where many competing solutions require users to trust third parties with their keys.

Industry Context: The Rise of AI Agent Infrastructure in Crypto

The launch of Agent Kit reflects the surging interest in AI agents since the debut of OpenAI's ChatGPT and subsequent models. As more crypto companies pivot toward agent-driven workflows, the need for secure, self-custodial transaction layers becomes critical. Trust Wallet's move positions it to capture developers building autonomous trading systems, DeFi bots, and personal finance assistants that require direct on-chain execution without sacrificing user sovereignty. With the Agent Marketplace, the company hopes to foster an ecosystem where reusable, audited strategies can be shared and deployed safely.
