Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) distributed about NT$36 billion in employee bonuses for the second quarter, according to an Odaily report citing CTEE Semiconductor. The payout was more than 50% higher than in the same period last year.
Under TSMC’s compensation structure, half of the company’s annual employee bonus pool is paid after the end of each quarter, while the remaining half is distributed after the shareholders’ meeting in the following year.
The bonus release came after TSMC posted record second-quarter revenue and profit, driven by growth across its high-performance computing, Internet of Things, automotive and consumer electronics platform businesses. Quarterly revenue reached $40.2 billion, while net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company totaled NT$706.56 billion. That figure was up 77.4% from a year earlier. Earnings per share came in at NT$27.25.
