tZERO, a platform for tokenized securities markets, said on Sept. 14 that it has completed a new financing round led by Marc Cohodes and Max Cohodes.

Existing investors including Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), Bill Fleckenstein and partner Dinari participated in the round, and Neighborhood Intelligence also committed to invest.

The company said the financing is part of its long-term capital plan. It will be used to support operations, fund the next stage of growth, and advance its infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) business.

tZERO said it is building infrastructure spanning tokenization, trading, custody and asset servicing around tokenized securities and other assets. The stated goal is to help financial institutions issue and trade assets through regulated blockchain infrastructure.

Chief Executive Officer Alan Konevsky said the round will support the company as it continues expanding its tokenized financial market infrastructure business and works toward capital independence.

The company also said it plans to expand infrastructure services covering tokenization and other derivatives, prediction markets, and spot crypto, and that it will look to grow its business further through strategic transactions.
