The Uniswap Foundation has published a breakdown of its year-end 2025 finances, showing $26 million in new grant commitments for the year and $11 million in disbursements tied to grants pledged earlier. In the fourth quarter alone, new grant commitments came to $5.8 million, while $2.1 million was paid out. Annual operating expenses were reported at $9.7 million, excluding an additional 450,000 UNI set aside for employee incentives.
The foundation also said it received 20.3 million UNI from the Uniswap Treasury under the “Uniswap Unleashed” governance initiative. At year-end, those tokens were valued at about $114 million. Fiat deposits added $1.7 million in interest income, a smaller but disclosed part of the overall financial picture.
$106.2 million earmarked for grants
According to the disclosure, $106.2 million of the foundation’s total asset base has been allocated specifically for grants. Within that amount, $87.5 million is reserved for new grant projects and $18.7 million is set aside for grants that were already committed but not yet paid. A separate $26.3 million allocation covers operating expenses and staff compensation.
Under its current financial plan, the foundation said existing reserves should provide enough flexibility to support operations through January 2027. That estimate is not final. The organization said it plans to revisit the timeline in the first quarter of 2026 after changes tied to the UNIfication process.
UNIfication approval came after the reported figures
The foundation noted that the released financial figures predate the approval of the UNIfication initiative on December 26, 2025. The governance proposal is designed to redefine the structural relationship between the foundation and the wider Uniswap ecosystem. As part of that change, a new legal entity called DUNI has been established to support future activities.
That timing matters because the published numbers reflect the foundation’s position before the governance overhaul took effect. The disclosure did not include a full post-UNIfication financial restatement, but it did say reserve planning will be reviewed again after the organizational changes are processed.
Uniswap v4 and Unichain led the 2025 development push
The report also highlighted product and ecosystem progress during 2025. The foundation pointed to the launch of Uniswap v4, which introduced customizable hooks and programmable infrastructure aimed at improving on-chain liquidity management. It also said it led the development and launch of Unichain, a dedicated blockchain built for high-performance DeFi applications.
Developer activity was another focus. The foundation said more than 1,500 developers took part in Uniswap v4 initiatives during the year, contributing to the protocol’s technical development and broader ecosystem growth. In the published update, grants, structural changes, and developer participation remain the main pillars described by the organization.
