Uniswap founder Hayden Adams tweeted on X about the emergence of correlation trading pairs in tokenized markets. He noted that the top five tokenized SPY trading pairs act as 'bridge' pairs connecting common base pairs, and then primarily connect highly correlated tokenized stocks. These markets are global, programmable, low-cost, and operate 24/7. Hayden, who has worked at the forefront of DeFi for nine years, believes AMMs have immense potential. He stated that the path for AMMs to achieve global dominance is becoming clearer. Uniswap, which has been operating autonomously since launch, has processed over $4.6 trillion in cumulative trading volume and increased DEX spot trading volume share from less than 1% to over 20%. AMMs have found product-market fit in long-tail assets, as most assets previously lacked professional market making. DeFi and AMMs lower market-making barriers, enabling more participants. Liquidity will concentrate where risk is lowest, rather than being constrained by traditional infrastructure.

As Uniswap founder Hayden Adams took to X to share his latest observations, he highlighted the formation of correlation trading pairs in the tokenized market. The top five tokenized SPY trading pairs, he noted, function as 'bridge' pairs that connect common base trading pairs, after which they primarily link to highly correlated tokenized stocks.

These markets boast global accessibility, programmability, low costs, and 24/7 operation. Tokenization, Hayden argued, is reshaping the form of markets, the role of market makers, and what is being traded.

Having spent nine years at the forefront of DeFi, Hayden expressed strong confidence in the potential of automated market makers (AMMs). He said the path for AMMs to achieve global dominance is becoming increasingly clear. Uniswap, which has operated autonomously since its launch, has accumulated over $4.6 trillion in total trading volume and has helped push the share of spot trading volume on decentralized exchanges (DEXs) from under 1% to over 20%.

As AMMs like Uniswap continue to evolve, their liquidity has formed a pattern that most financial markets have yet to notice: correlation trading pairs. AMMs have found product-market fit in long-tail markets, because many assets previously could not attract professional market makers. DeFi and AMMs have lowered the barriers to market making, opening the market to more participants. Liquidity, Hayden said, will concentrate where risk is lowest, rather than being forced to stay where traditional infrastructure dictates.
