Upbit said it has designated Zilliqa (ZIL), a staking public-chain token, as a trading caution asset in its KRW and BTC markets. The exchange said the measure was taken because ZIL-related wallets or distributed ledger systems had experienced hacking or other security incidents whose causes remain unclear or have not yet been fixed, creating a risk of user losses. ZIL deposits and withdrawals have been suspended since 19:00 on July 20. Upbit said it currently plans to resume only withdrawals, while the timing for restoring deposits will be announced after further review. The trading caution period runs from 19:00 on July 22 through the third week of August. During that period, Upbit said it will decide under its Digital Asset Transaction Support Termination Policy whether to extend the designation, lift it, or end trading support for the asset.
