U.S. and Canadian markets close for Labor Day, with futures sessions ending early

U.S. and Canadian stock markets will be closed for one day on Monday, Sept. 7, because of the U.S. Labor Day holiday, according to Odaily. The holiday schedule also brings earlier closing times across several major futures contracts. At CME Group, trading in precious metals and U.S. crude oil futures will end early at 02:30 Beijing time on Sept. 8, while stock index futures will close earlier at 01:00 Beijing time. At Intercontinental Exchange, Brent crude oil futures will finish trading at 01:30 Beijing time on Sept. 8. The holiday calendar also affects energy data releases in the United States. Weekly U.S. crude inventory reports from the American Petroleum Institute, or API, and the Energy Information Administration, or EIA, have both been pushed back. API data will be released at 04:30 Beijing time on Thursday, Sept. 10, and EIA data will be published at 00:00 Beijing time on Friday, Sept. 11.
