VALR is preparing to roll out Perps on VALR, a perpetual futures product that will open access to more than 200 markets on the exchange. The offering is built on HyperliquidX infrastructure, allowing users to open, manage, and close positions inside VALR rather than moving to a separate app or trading venue.

Web launch set for July 6

The product is scheduled to go live on the web on July 6. Mobile access will follow later, though no exact app launch date has been announced. The rollout starts with the browser version first, with mobile coming after that.

The market list goes beyond crypto. According to the announcement, traders will be able to access perpetual markets tied to equities, indices, commodities, precious metals, and forex alongside digital assets. A single VALR account could therefore be used to trade Bitcoin, gold, or a stock index through the same interface.

VALR is plugging into on-chain trading infrastructure

HyperliquidX is known for its on-chain, permissionless trading stack. Instead of building a full derivatives system and order book from scratch, VALR is integrating external infrastructure and keeping the user experience on its own platform. Users interact with VALR on the front end, while the trading framework underneath comes from HyperliquidX.

Hyperliquid founder Jeff Yan described the partnership as a major milestone. He compared the model to the early era of cloud computing, where companies no longer had to build every part of their own server infrastructure and could connect to scalable systems that already existed.

VALR’s scale gives the launch extra weight

VALR is frequently described as one of the largest crypto exchanges in Africa, with a user base close to 2 million. That makes this rollout more than a limited product test. It is a broad expansion for a platform that already serves a sizable retail base.

VALR is licensed and based in South Africa. Hyperliquid focuses on deep on-chain liquidity that other platforms can integrate. Put together, the arrangement reflects a structure in which a regulated exchange keeps the customer relationship and interface, while decentralized trading infrastructure handles the market layer below.

After the web release, attention is likely to shift to the mobile launch and how quickly additional markets are added. For now, the confirmed details are the July 6 web debut, the use of HyperliquidX infrastructure, and the initial scope of 200-plus perpetual trading markets.
