According to ChainCatcher, Venus Protocol has announced the launch of collateralized lending for tokenized stocks, known as bStocks, on BNB Chain. Users can now deposit on-chain U.S. equity assets such as TSLAB, NVDAB and SPCXB into Venus Core Pool as collateral, and borrow assets including USDT and USDC. Under this structure, users do not need to sell their holdings in order to access borrowed assets, while they continue to maintain exposure to the price movements of the stock-related assets they hold.
bStocks Added as Collateral in Venus Core Pool
The key update is the inclusion of tokenized stocks in Venus Protocol’s collateral framework on BNB Chain. Assets such as TSLAB, NVDAB and SPCXB are now available as on-chain U.S. equity assets that can be deposited into Venus Core Pool for use in borrowing. Venus said this is the first time the protocol has supported tokenized stocks as collateral assets, extending its supported collateral beyond crypto-native assets into stock-based tokenized assets.
In practical terms, users can deposit the relevant bStocks into the pool and borrow assets such as USDT and USDC while retaining their stock price exposure. The announcement states that this process does not require users to sell their on-chain U.S. equity positions. For Venus, the addition of bStocks means tokenized stocks have formally entered the protocol’s on-chain liquidity market.
Tokenized Assets Expand From XAUm to Stocks
Venus’ on-chain liquidity market is already shared by assets including BTC, ETH, BNB and stablecoins. With the launch of bStocks, tokenized stocks have joined the same market framework, standing alongside those crypto assets and stablecoins as part of the pool of assets involved in on-chain lending activity. The announcement describes the move as the formal inclusion of tokenized stocks in Venus’ on-chain liquidity market.
Before this launch, Venus had already supported tokenized assets such as XAUm. By adding bStocks, the protocol has expanded the scope of on-chain collateral to include stock assets. Venus said the move advances the deeper integration of RWA and DeFi. The newly announced function is deployed on BNB Chain, and the borrowable assets mentioned in the announcement include USDT and USDC.
