Venus Protocol said it will end support for opBNB, Optimism and Unichain on Oct. 23, 2026, asking users with active positions on those networks to close positions and withdraw funds before the deadline. Elsewhere, Apple and Google have posted job openings tied to stablecoins and digital-asset infrastructure, according to Bloomingbit, though the listings do not show that either company plans to launch its own stablecoin product. In the market, BTC rose above $84,000 with a 24-hour gain of 4.59%, while monitoring accounts tracked a Garrett Jin-linked whale closing a 1,333 BTC long for an $8.38 million profit. Onchain Lens also reported that wallet Smartestmoney.hl still holds a 1.38 million HYPE long with unrealized profit swelling to $78.94 million. Morgan Stanley strategist Michael Wilson’s team warned that U.S. equities could face as much as a 7% short-term drop if financial conditions tighten further or energy prices jump, even as the bank still expects stronger earnings to support a rebound later in the year. The roundup also covered Zhipu’s plan to open-source ZCode, Bitnomial’s filing for single-stock perpetual futures, and this week’s major token unlocks.

Venus Protocol said it will stop supporting opBNB, Optimism and Unichain on Oct. 23, 2026, and told users with active positions on those three networks to close them and withdraw funds before the deadline.

Apple and Google post roles tied to stablecoins

According to Bloomingbit, Apple posted a U.S.-based opening on Aug. 26 for a head of financial product strategy for Apple Pay, listing stablecoins, tokenized deposits and blockchain technology as preferred qualifications. Google, for its part, is hiring a chief architect for the Web3 industry in Hong Kong, seeking experience in stablecoin payment networks, real-world asset tokenization and digital-asset custody.

The two companies appear to be looking at different areas. Apple’s opening is centered on consumer financial services such as Apple Card and Apple Cash, while Google’s role is aimed at institution-grade cloud infrastructure for digital assets. The report noted that Samsung had made similar moves earlier.

At the same time, the job listings do not prove that either company will issue a proprietary stablecoin or launch a specific product. For now, they point more to internal evaluation and positioning around possible payment use cases for stablecoins.

Morgan Stanley warns of a possible 7% near-term drop in U.S. stocks

Michael Wilson’s strategy team at Morgan Stanley said U.S. equities remain exposed to further increases in energy prices and heavier volatility in the bond market. In that scenario, the S&P 500 could fall as much as 7%.

The strategists said strong corporate earnings have so far helped stocks absorb the pressure from rising bond yields, but S&P 500 valuations have fallen over the past four months to their lowest level since March.

Wilson wrote in a report: 「If valuation correction worsens further in the near term due to tighter financial conditions and/or a sharp rise in energy prices, we think the S&P 500 could fall to 7100 before the bull market resumes by year-end.」 That level implies a 7% decline from last Friday’s close.

Wilson also said volatility is likely to increase before the November midterm elections, though he still expects strong earnings prospects to support a year-end rebound, with the index moving toward his 8,000 target. That would mean an increase of nearly 5% from current levels.

Zhipu, Kraken and Bitnomial updates

Zhipu says ZCode will be open-sourced and audited

Zhipu, the Chinese large-model company listed as 2513.HK, said its AI coding tool ZCode will soon be formally open-sourced. The company said the move is a first response to outside concerns over ZCode’s data handling. It also said it plans to push the product further toward community participation and welcomed outside developers to download and inspect the code and join improvements.

Kraken looks to list single-stock perpetual futures through Bitnomial

A filing disclosed by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission showed that Bitnomial Exchange, which has been acquired by Kraken parent Payward, submitted a proposed rule change to establish generic listing standards and trading rules for cash-settled single-stock security futures.

Bitnomial plans to launch cash-settled security futures tied to individual stocks, including perpetual security futures with no fixed expiration date. The products would trade 24 hours a day, five days a week, or 24/5, and would use a funding-rate mechanism for payments between long and short positions.

The exchange also proposed a daily funding settlement process for the products and said each contract would represent 100 shares of the underlying stock, with a standard position limit of 200,000 contracts.

Payward separately said the initial rollout is expected to include perpetual futures linked to 10 U.S.-listed stocks, including Tesla, Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft and Amazon.
