VerifiedX said its Foundation has opened a $15 million financing round, with initial institutional investors already participating, to fund a wider push into institutional Bitcoin infrastructure. Cantor Fitzgerald is acting as the company’s investment banking partner for the raise, while the Foundation has not disclosed the identities of the initial investors or the terms of their participation. The proceeds are slated for several areas at once: expanding custody arrangements, supporting exchange listings, and building borrow-and-lend rails tied to Bitcoin. VerifiedX said BitGo, a digital-asset custodian listed on the New York Stock Exchange, will hold vBTC and vBTC.b, the project’s Bitcoin-collateralized token and its Base-based counterpart. It also said tier-one centralized exchanges are expected to list vBTC and VFX, with a first announcement anticipated within weeks. The company is positioning vBTC as an alternative to conventional wrapped Bitcoin structures, saying users retain self-custodial deposit addresses on the Bitcoin network, can redeem back to native BTC at any time, and can use the asset for payments, trading, collateral, lending, and treasury activity, including on Base through vBTC.b.

VerifiedX said its Foundation has launched a $15 million financing round, with the first institutional investors already committed to the raise. The company describes itself as a programmable financial operating system for Bitcoin and intelligent assets, and said the initial capital will be used to fund its institutional Bitcoin distribution effort.

Cantor Fitzgerald is serving as VerifiedX’s investment banking partner in connection with the financing. The Foundation has not disclosed the identities of the initial investors or the terms of those investments.

Capital earmarked for custody, listings, and lending rails

Part of the new capital is being allocated to expand custody relationships with partners including BitGo. VerifiedX said BitGo, a digital-asset custodian listed on the New York Stock Exchange, will hold vBTC, the company’s Bitcoin-collateralized token, and vBTC.b, its counterpart on Base, Coinbase’s Ethereum layer-2 network.

VerifiedX added that BitGo is a qualified custodian, which means U.S. custody rules allow registered investment advisers to hold client assets there.

The financing will also support listings. VerifiedX said tier-one centralized exchanges will list vBTC and VFX, its native token, and that a first announcement is expected within weeks.

Another use of proceeds is the buildout of borrow-and-lend programs. VerifiedX described those facilities as tools that let a holder borrow against Bitcoin, or lend Bitcoin out for a return, without giving up ownership or locking redemption rights.

How VerifiedX frames vBTC

VerifiedX argued that most existing ways to put Bitcoin to work on-chain require holders to exchange it for another party’s IOU. The company said that is why less than 1% of all Bitcoin held by institutions is earning any yield today.

Brian May, a member of the VerifiedX Foundation, said: 「vBTC is a game-changer in that regard, and this round funds the custody, exchange and lending rails that will allow institutions to use vBTC and natively turn their Bitcoin into productive financial capital.」

The company contrasted vBTC with the standard wrapped-Bitcoin model. In that setup, VerifiedX said, a holder hands Bitcoin to a custodian, or to a small group of signers acting together, and receives an off-chain representation on another network. The value of that representation depends on whoever controls the Bitcoin backing it.

VerifiedX said vBTC is structured differently. When a holder creates a vBTC token, the VerifiedX network generates a unique native Bitcoin address inside each token, and the holder deposits Bitcoin into their own self-custodial deposit address. According to the company, the Bitcoin remains in that address, is visible on Bitcoin’s own ledger, and never leaves the Bitcoin ecosystem.

Deposits and withdrawals are authorized by threshold signatures distributed across VerifiedX validators, the company said, so no single party controls the key. It also said a holder that does not want to rely on the network’s validators can run its own validators and restrict signing authority exclusively to those validators. Holders can redeem into native Bitcoin at any time.

Use cases for vBTC and vBTC.b

VerifiedX said vBTC can be used for payments, trading, as collateral, in lending, or in treasury operations. vBTC.b applies the same design on Base, allowing the asset to be used in applications on that network without a synthetic structure.

Products and ecosystem items listed by the company

In its company description, VerifiedX said it is building a financial operating system for Bitcoin, intelligent assets, and alternative assets, focused on self-custodial ownership, instant settlement, programmable finance, native Bitcoin utility, and agentic financial infrastructure.

The company said products across that framework include vBTC, BFLY, and PulseXAI, linking institutions, users, and autonomous systems through a unified blockchain ecosystem model. It listed the following ecosystem components:

  • vBTC & vBTC.b (BTC)
  • BFLY payments and click to earn infrastructure
  • SwitchBlade wallet technology
  • PulseXAI generative and tokenized intelligence
  • Institutional settlement architecture
  • Consensus-driven programmability
  • Canonical interoperability systems
