The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that landfills account for 15% of U.S. methane emissions, though studies suggest the actual figure could be higher. Vespene's technology curbs methane, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), carbon dioxide, and nitrogen oxide emissions.
