BlockBeats reported on July 16 that monitoring data from Hyperinsight showed SPCX had been formally added to the Nasdaq-100 before the U.S. stock market open on July 7. A wallet starting with 0xf929 positioned for a short trade one day before that development, opening the position on the afternoon of July 6 and continuing to add through the morning of July 10.
By press time, the wallet had opened 1,005 SPCX short entries at an average price of $163.1, with roughly 44,000 units sold short in total. With SPCX quoted at $136.5, the position was showing an unrealized profit of $1.167 million and a return of 327.2%. The liquidation price was around $202.7.
August dates in focus for SPCX
The market is mainly expecting SpaceX (SPCX) to release its first quarterly earnings report after the U.S. market close on Aug. 6, Eastern Time. The first earnings-triggered unlock is expected around the market open on Aug. 10, when 20% of locked shares could become available for sale. If price performance conditions are met, another 10% could be unlocked.
A separate fixed unlock of 7% is expected around Aug. 21.
ETH long also posts strong gains
Beyond SPCX, the same address was also holding an ETH long with sizable gains. The wallet bought 4,000 ETH on July 2 and is currently holding a roughly $7.702 million long position at 20x leverage, with an average entry price of $1,658.7.
At press time, that ETH trade was showing about $1.067 million in unrealized profit, or a return of about 321.6%.
SK Hynix trade turns negative
Outside those two high-return positions, the address shifted to buying SK Hynix starting last night and added again this morning. The cumulative position reached 5,000 long contracts, with total turnover of about $6.566 million.
The trade is currently held at 10x leverage with an average price of $1,313.2, and was showing an unrealized loss of about $351,000 at press time.
