Walmart’s payment service OnePay has added support for USDC, according to a post on X by Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire. He said he was pleased to see the move and described it as another step in the gradual rollout of USDC across global retail financial applications. Under the new support, users can send USDC directly to their OnePay accounts. The funds are then deposited into the balance of the user’s existing checking account, where they can be used for bill payments and transfers. The setup also removes the need to convert the stablecoin through an exchange before using the funds. Allaire shared the update through his X account, @jerallaire.
