Wang Xingxing, founder and CEO of Unitree Robotics, said embodied artificial intelligence could hit its “ChatGPT moment” in as soon as two to three years, according to information released by the World Internet Conference. He made the remarks on July 22 at the opening ceremony of the 2026 World Internet Conference Digital Silk Road Development Forum in Xi’an, Shaanxi. The forum was held under the theme “Pooling Wisdom Along the Digital Silk Road, Opening a New Chapter Together — Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace.” Wang said humanoid robots have advanced rapidly in recent years, moving from basic walking to dancing, kung fu fighting and simple service tasks. In his view, the next stage could allow robots to work directly in most unfamiliar settings and carry out many basic functions. He also said people should make plans and arrangements based on their own circumstances in advance so they can better seize new opportunities in the intelligent era.
