US Vice President Vance Says No Talks with Iran Until It Stops Attacking Ships

Vice President Vance said on Thursday that the United States will not engage in dialogue with Iran until it ceases attacks on commercial vessels. Speaking at a White House press conference, Vance stated that around 15 million barrels of oil transited the Strait of Hormuz the previous day, attributing high gasoline prices to Iran's firing on ships. He indicated that the U.S. is applying pressure through various measures and advised Iran to "stop acting like madmen." Vance noted that shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz has nearly returned to pre-conflict levels. He added that the U.S. has many additional tools available, some of which Trump would use and others not. Currently, there are no major combat operations underway.
