WEEX TradFi data showed Dell Technologies (DELL) surged more than 12% last Friday to a record high, while Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) also posted a gain of about 12%. WEEX Labs said Dell’s sharp move was driven by two factors cited in its market read: rising expectations for AI server orders and shipments, which have improved visibility on demand from major computing clients, and a firmer fundamental case for hardware names as cloud providers expand capital spending. The firm also warned that this week will test macro policy expectations. It pointed to two dates at the center of market attention: a key procedural vote on the CLARITY Act on Sept. 15 Eastern Time, and the Federal Reserve’s Federal Open Market Committee rate decision on Sept. 16. According to WEEX Labs, the strength of any move in U.S. equities and crypto will depend on how the Fed frames the probability of further rate hikes, what its dot plot signals about the path ahead, and how the bill progresses.

ChainCatcher reported on Sept. 14 that WEEX TradFi market data showed Dell Technologies (DELL) jumped more than 12% last Friday and set a new record high. Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) also gained about 12%.

WEEX Labs said Dell’s strong breakout was mainly driven by two factors. First, expectations for AI server orders and shipments have continued to build, while solid computing demand from large clients has improved visibility into the company’s performance. Second, as cloud providers increase capital spending, the hardware sector has shown a more certain fundamental story.

Markets watch policy and rate events this week

WEEX Labs said macro policy will face a key test this week. The main items on the market calendar are a key procedural vote on the CLARITY Act on Sept. 15 Eastern Time and the Federal Reserve’s FOMC rate decision on Sept. 16.

According to WEEX Labs, the scale of any breakout in U.S. stocks and the crypto market will depend on the Fed’s comments on the probability of rate hikes, guidance from the dot plot, and the progress of the bill.
