WEEX has opened the first qualifying round of its “Alpha Awakening: WEEX AI Trading Hackathon,” with the early-bird stage starting at 20:00 on January 12 and running until 20:00 on February 2. According to the exchange, 788 BUIDLs, including 520 teams from global developer, quantitative trading, and technical communities, have entered the event. Participants are split into 14 groups and trade using competition funds provided by WEEX.
Top performers in each group move on to the finals
The advancement rule is based on group returns. The top 2 participants in each group from the first qualifier will secure a place in the finals, where they will compete for a total prize pool of $1.88 million. The champion is set to receive a Bentley Bentayga S valued at $500,000. The event structure centers on trading performance, with returns determining who advances.
Those who missed registration for the first round can still apply for the second qualifier through the late-entry channel before January 18. After completing registration and passing the API test, eligible participants will receive a 1,000 USDT position voucher. Profits can be withdrawn, while losses will be covered by the platform. The second qualifier will run from 12:00 on January 19 to 20:00 on February 2, and the top return winner in each group will advance to the finals.
Hackathon targets AI and quantitative strategy development
